As executive producer at Heliopolis Entertainment for the last 30 years, David Nicksay has spent a significant portion of his career working in feature films, but has also built a notable track record in television movies and limited series, where he has received multiple nominations and awards.
The most recent awards recognition that David Nicksay has received is for Station Eleven, a limited series streamed on HBO Max. Adapted from a novel by Emily St. John Mandel, Station Eleven follows two plotlines: the onset of a global pandemic, and its aftermath 15 years later, from the perspectives of the members of a traveling theater troupe. David Nicksay won his first Director’s Guild of America (DGA) award in 2022 in the category movies for television and limited series as the unit production manager and co-executive producer for director Hiro Murai, who oversaw the pilot episode.
In 2023, David Nicksay received two nominations at the DGA Awards in the same category. Jeremy Podeswa and Helen Shaver earned nominations as directors of separate episodes. Shaver won the award. In both instances, David Nicksay served as the unit production manager and co-executive producer on all episodes of the series.
